SDBA Points

General

SDBA points will be awarded at eight races in 2021.

Final points will be the sum of the top six points scoring events

Points will be posted on Southeasterndragbike.com 7 days after each event

A rider is permitted to use a different bike per event to score points. Points stay with the Rider, not the bike. Points cannot be transferred between riders.

License and Bike numbers

LICENSE NUMBER: A rider must use the same SDBA License number for the entire season, and cannot change it at any time during the season. The SDBA number goes on your registration form and may or may not be the same as the number on your bike(s). The points are awarded to the SDBA License number and not to a bike number. Think of your License number like it is your social security number, it is your identity. Example: Daulton has a License number of 2323. He races at race 1 on bike number 1212 and then races on a different bike numbered 1313 in race two. The points for Daulton in race 1 and race 2 will be awarded to Daulton’s license number 2323. SDBA license numbers can be reserved ahead of time by contacting Sonny Vick before the event or at registration.

NUMBER SIZE: All bike numbers must be 3” tall, and on both sides of the bike (not in the middle of your windshield on the front). Numbers should be painted on or made of vinyl. Shoe polish is allowed but vinyl stickers are preferred.

BIKE NUMBER LOCATION: The preferred location for bike numbers on bikes with fairings is on both sides of your windshield. The preferred location for bike numbers on bikes without fairings is on both sides of your tail section or wheelie bar. You may want to also consider placing your bike number on your helmet.

BIKE NUMBER: All SDBA racers must display a number on both sides of their bike. In the event two bikes with the same number register in the same class, the person who registered first will retain the number and the second person registering must put an X at the end of their number.

VERIFY YOUR BIKE NUMBER: All riders must check their time slip after each qualifying pass and each elimination run to make sure it has your correct bike number on it. Riders need to also check their name, bike info, and hometown on the qualifying results before eliminations to make sure your name and spellings are correct. If anything is incorrect, you must notify the tower immediately to get it fixed.

Tiebreakers

In the event of a tie in points in the top 10 for the championship at the end of the year, the tie will be broken by the Racer with the highest finish at the last race. If racers remain tied we will work backwards from the most recent event to the least recent event until a winner is determined. In the event this still does not provide a winner, the tie breaker will go to the rider with the best reaction time in the last round they ran. When tiebreakers are used, any riders tied will be placed in the tiebreaker order using tenths of a point. The winner of the tiebreaker will be given a half point.

Attendance Bonus

Any Rider who attends and enters a class at every event will receive 20 bonus points after the drop.

Rainouts

In the event of a rain out SDBA Officials will dictate the points situation and award points to the best of our abilities.

Discrepancies

It is the rider’s responsibility to verify his or her own points. In case of a discrepancy, you must email a letter within 7 days after the points are posted. Send email to Sonny Vick at Sonnylynnvick75@gmail.com or Southeasterndba@gmail.com
